ABOUT ME

Hi there! My name is Ahmad Nazzal and I thank you for visiting my hilfegmle blog. Please allow me to tell you about my personal experience.

Ten years ago, a good friend of mine convinced me to enroll in an intensive German language course. In the course we were six medical students. We were all in our fifth year studying medicine at the University of Jordan in Amman.

Our goal was to continue our medical training in Germany.

As a non-german speaker, at that time, it was hard to gather information about the German Medical License Exam (GMLE). All trustworthy resources were in German. Only some scattered facebook posts about the topic were in English or  in Arabic. 

In comparison, colleagues who decided to set for the United States Medical Exam (USMLE) had an abundance of resources available to prepare them for the USMLE tests. 

Now in 2020, the path for International medical graduates (IMGs) to a medical residency in Germany remains vague. 

Therefore, I wrote a concise book about the GMLE in English. More info about the book please check the BOOKS section. 

In 2011, I earned my doctorate of medicine from the University of Jordan. 

After graduating, I completed a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in neuroscience from the International Max-Planck Research School for Neurosciences in Goettingen, Germany. 

During my PhD, I researched the neural correlates of decision-making in the human brain using functional magnetic resonance imaging. 

Afterwards, I decided to continue my medical training in Germany. So, I had to pass the medical german language test, and the knowledge test to get the approbation.
