To become a medical doctor in Germany you need the Approbation. The "Approbation" is the medical license that permits you to practice medicine in Germany. 

As an international medical graduate, depending if your medical degree is from EU countries or non-EU countries, you need to pass some exams. 

One of the exams is the "Kenntnisprüfung" which translates to the medical knowledge exam.  It is kind of similar to the clinical skills exam of the USMLE Step 2. 

However, it is obscure to how to apply to the exam, how to prepare for it, what resources to use to get the Approbation as an international medical doctor.

Also, what makes it even harder is that the  accreditation system in Germany is decentralized. Therefore, experiences of international medical doctors widely vary depending on the region where they submit their papers. 

So, to tackle those issues I wrote "Erste Hilfe for the German Medical License Exam". In the book, I provide a plan that minimizes the variance and guarantees success.

Note: I came up the term (GMLE) to have the vocabulary comparable to other international medical examinations such as the United States Medical License Examination (USMLE).
